Day 1

Time : 8:00 am

Cotopaxi National Park

As we stay in Latacunga, the first thing we do is taking a 45-minutes ride to the Cotopaxi NP, home to the majestic Cotopaxi volcano, one of the highest active volcanoes in the world. The tour often includes a visit to the park, where you can admire the snow-capped peak, hike through scenic trails, and marvel at the surrounding Andean landscapes. Adventurous visitors may even have the opportunity to climb Cotopaxi, though this requires proper preparation and expertise.
Lunch can be arranged on the location or in Latacunga when we are back.
Afternoon we will spend in Latacunga strolling around the old town and visiting historical sights such as Cathedral of Latacunga and Hacienda Tilipulo.
Finishing the day in a Spanish-style restaurant with delicious cuisine.

Day 2

Time : 8:00 am

Quilotoa Lagoon

A 1.5-hour drive will bring us to another place with unbelievable stunning views. Here you will have two options: A - to complete a full-loop 5-6-hour hike around the lake or B - to make the “Down to the lake and back” trail. The first option is considered for advanced tourists and requires some physical preparation. The second option can be achieved by foot or with a donkey. By the lake, you will be offered to take a kayak tour for additional coast.
Lunch will be arranged in Quilotoa village. Once we are back to Latacunga, you can explore indigenous communities in the area and learn about their traditional way of life, including their customs, music, and crafts. The nearby Saquisilí Indigenous Market is another fascinating attraction, where you can witness the vibrant trading and bartering traditions of the local communities.
